Chez Hope, Inc. assists those who have been affected by Domestic/Intimate Partner Violence.

DO YOU ALLOW MALES INTO THE EMERGENCY SHELTER?
Yes, victims, regardless of gender, can access the emergency shelter.

DO YOU HOUSE HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS IN THE SHELTER?
While some clients staying at the shelter are or have been homeless, being homeless is not a qualifier to enter the shelter. Clients staying at the shelter are in immediate danger from their abuser before entering the shelter.

IS THERE A WAITING LIST TO GET INTO THE SHELTER?
No! If our shelter is at capacity, we will refer to sister shelters around the state.

HOW LONG CAN I STAY IN THE SHELTER?
The stay in the shelter is up to 6 weeks.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I LEAVE THE SHELTER?
Our emergency shelter is a short-term program, a safe place to rest, collect your thoughts, and plan for your next steps. While in the shelter, you will work with an advocate who can help you set and work toward goals and explore housing, employment, financial, and legal resources. You can continue to receive these advocacy services and counseling from Chez Hope even after you have exited the shelter.

HOW CAN I GET A PROTECTIVE ORDER?
You can come to one of Chez Hopes' offices, and an advocate can assist you.

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR SERVICES?
NO! All Domestic Violence Services are free of charge.

What is a Safety Plan?
A safety plan is a personalized, practical plan to improve your safety while experiencing abuse, preparing to leave an abusive situation, or after you leave.

What is a Protective Order?
A protective order is a legal document intended to prohibit your partner from physically coming near you or harming or harassing you, your children, or other loved ones.

Where can you apply for a Protective Order?
You can come to Chez Hope and an advocate can assist you with completing the paperwork.
